# Auto-Apply (AuraPro)

**Auto-Apply** automatically finds jobs that match your CV and can prepare applications when the match score meets your threshold (typically **80%+**, configurable). On supported flows, AuraCV fills safe fields and stops before final submission so you can review.

**Requirement:** Active **AuraPro** subscription.

**Path:** **Auto Apply** (`/auto-apply`)

## How it works (end-to-end)

1. **Choose a CV** — We use it for matching **and** as the basis for application content. Pick your most accurate, up-to-date version.
2. **Configure settings** — Minimum score, regions, remote preference, daily/run limits.
3. **Scan** — AuraCV searches the job board for listings that fit your profile.
4. **Review matches** — See scores, companies, locations, and **missing skills**.
5. **Prepare / apply** — Confirm each job (**manual**) or run the automated preparation flow for jobs above threshold.

Auto-Apply is a **productivity tool**, not a guarantee of interviews or offers.

## Settings explained

Common options (labels may vary slightly in the UI):

| Setting | Purpose | Guidance |
|---------|---------|----------|
| **Minimum match score** | Only jobs at or above this % are candidates | Start **85%+**; lower only if you need more volume |
| **Regions** | SA, international, or both | Narrow regions if you cannot relocate |
| **Remote / on-site** | Filters work location | Align with your Profile preferences |
| **Daily / run limits** | Caps applications per scan | Prevents accidental mass apply |

Adjust settings **before each scan** when targeting a new role type (e.g. switching from "junior dev" to "project manager").

### Common questions: settings

**What threshold should I use?**
**85%+** when learning the feature; **80%** for more volume with more manual review; avoid **below 75%** unless you accept many weak fits.

**Can I use different CVs for different scans?**
Yes — select the CV that matches the campaign before scanning.

**Will Auto-Apply apply to jobs I'm not qualified for?**
It uses match scores, not human judgment. High volume + low threshold increases misfires. Employers may view irrelevant applications negatively.

## Scan results

After a scan you typically see:

- Total jobs scanned
- Count of **strong matches**
- Per job: **match score**, company, location, **top missing skills**

Use **missing skills** to update your CV (**Skills** section, experience bullets) or study gaps on **Skills & Courses**, then scan again.

## Apply manually vs automatically

| Mode | Best for | Risk |
|------|----------|------|
| **Manual apply** | First-time users, senior roles, small target list | Lower — you approve each job |
| **Automatic prepare** | High volume, trusted threshold, familiar markets | Medium — review before final submission |

**Always verify** company name, role title, and legitimacy before final submission. Fraudulent listings occasionally appear on public job feeds.

### Common questions: applying

**Where do applications show up?**
Check **Applications** (`/applications`) tracker. External board applications may still need **manual** tracking if the employer site does not report back to AuraCV.

**Can Auto-Apply apply on LinkedIn/Indeed directly?**
Many listings redirect to **external portals**. Auto-Apply cannot fill every employer form. See [FAQ — Known limitations](./faq-troubleshooting.md).

**How is Quick Apply different?**
Quick Apply is assisted fill. You open the employer form, run the AuraCV helper, review filled fields, and submit yourself. Auto-Apply is the higher-volume AuraPro workflow for matched jobs and supported flows. See [Quick Apply](./quick-apply.md).

**Duplicate applications?**
Review **Applications** and Auto-Apply **history** before re-scanning the same keywords.

## History

View past **Auto-Apply runs**: jobs scanned, matched, and prepared/applied. Use history to:

- Audit what was sent
- Avoid repeating the same companies in one week
- Tune thresholds based on results

## Best practices

1. **Accurate CV** — Auto-Apply amplifies what's in your CV; errors scale.
2. **High threshold first** — Then lower only with intention.
3. **Manual mode first week** — Learn match quality before bulk apply.
4. **Update Applications** — Follow up on interviews and rejections.
5. **Combine with AI Hub** — CV Checker → Job Matcher (pick jobs from the board) → then Auto-Apply.
6. **Do not spam** — Applying to unqualified roles hurts your brand with recruiters.

## Ethics and terms

- Employers may reject automated or bulk applications.
- Comply with each job board's **terms of service**.
- You remain responsible for application content and truthfulness.
- Auto-Apply does not replace networking, referrals, or tailored cover letters where they matter.

## Troubleshooting

| Issue | What to try |
|-------|-------------|
| Auto-Apply menu missing or locked | Confirm **AuraPro** on **Subscriptions**; refresh login |
| No matches found | Broaden regions slightly; improve Skills; lower threshold a few points |
| Too many weak matches | Raise threshold; narrow regions; refine CV summary |
| Applications not in tracker | Add manually from job detail; external-only apply |
| Scan fails / timeout | Retry; check network; email support if persistent |
| Hit upgrade during scan | AI or Pro subscription lapsed — renew AuraPro |
