Account & settings
This guide covers sign-in, Application Profile, Settings, legal consent, sessions, privacy, ads, and account deletion.
Sign-in methods
Google OAuth
- Click Sign in with Google on the login page.
- Authorize AuraCV to read basic profile info (name, email, profile picture).
- Session stays active for about 7 days on the same browser (unless you sign out).
You may be asked to accept Terms and Privacy at login if you have not already.
Troubleshooting Google sign-in:
- Allow pop-ups for auracv.net.
- Try another browser or incognito.
- Corporate networks may block OAuth — try mobile data or home Wi‑Fi.
- Persistent errors: support@auracv.net.
Email and password
- Register with email, name, and password.
- Verify via the email link (check spam).
- Login with verified email and password.
- Forgot password on the login page if needed.
Demo login
Development/demo only. Do not use Demo for real applications on production.
Legal consent (Terms & Privacy)
On first use (and until accepted), AuraCV shows a consent banner at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Accept to confirm you have read and agree to Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, including cookies as described there.
- You can read both anytime under Help → Terms / Privacy.
- Dismissing the banner temporarily does not replace acceptance — full features expect consent.
Consent is stored in your browser so you are not asked on every page.
Application Profile
Path: Application Profile (/profile)
Save details once — AuraCV uses them when you apply to jobs:
- Contact details (email, phone)
- Location (city, country)
- Professional summary / bio
- Links (LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio)
- Work preferences (remote, role types — AuraPro may unlock more fields)
Application Profile vs CV: Profile feeds autofill for applications and new CVs. Each CV document in the builder can still differ from Profile (e.g. tailored summaries per role).

I updated Profile but my old CV didn't change.
Open each CV in the builder and update sections — autofill often applies on new CVs or new fields.
Should I put my full street address?
City and country are usually enough.
Settings
Path: Settings (/settings)
Typical options:
- Dark mode / light mode
- Auto-apply settings — how Auto-Apply behaves when you are AuraPro (thresholds, preferences)
- Account — email display, connected Google account
- Notifications — email preferences where available
- Subscription — manage AuraPro, cancel, renewal

Where do I cancel AuraPro?
Settings or Subscriptions → Cancel. Access remains until period end — see AuraPro.
Dark mode doesn't stick.
Set again in Settings; check if the browser clears site data on exit.
Session and security
- Sign out on shared computers (sidebar footer).
- Production uses secure HTTP-only cookies for sessions.
- Never share password, magic links, or Paystack OTP codes.
Suspected compromise: Sign out, reset password (email users), revoke Google access in Google Account security, email support@auracv.net.
Delete account
Self-serve deletion may not be available in the UI.
To request deletion:
- Email support@auracv.net from your registered email.
- Subject: "Account deletion request"
- Ask for all personal data and CVs to be removed.
Resolve billing disputes before deletion if you need refund records.
Privacy
AuraCV stores CVs, applications, profile data, and usage needed to run the service.
- Do not upload confidential third-party data without permission.
- You control what you send to employers.

AuraCV is designed to be POPIA compliant. We do not sell personal information, do not train AI on your CV or account data, and store data securely. Official law: popia.co.za.
Ads (free accounts)
Free accounts may see advertisement banners. AuraPro removes ads.
Upgraded but still see ads?
Log out/in, wait a few minutes after payment, confirm Subscriptions shows AuraPro.
